Talking Suitcases Weekend Workshops:

What do you carry with you?  What will you leave behind?

In this weekend workshop, create your own “Talking Suitcase” – a suitcase filled with handmade objects that tell stories.  With short writings & story exercises, we’ll evoke powerful and inspiring times in our lives, then create objects to represent them. We use fabric, papers, wire, sequins, beads, paint, and wooden bits to transform our experiences into colorful 3-D.  As we create, we reflect:  what roles do/did these moments play in the unfolding of our lives? What do we keep, and what do we want to let go?

On the final day, we’ll make an object of our dreams for the coming year.

(No art experience necessary.  Please bring a suitcase and your favorite scissors.)
